Welcome to Lookatwhatimade! Here you will find links to all my free crochet patterns and tutorials. I aim to make my patterns as easy as possible to follow so that each and every one of you can make them, regardless of pattern complexity or your crochet experience!

If you get stuck with any of my patterns, please Contact Me so that I can help you figure it out. If you spot an error in one of my patterns, I would be immensely grateful if you could let me know so that I can correct it.

General Information About My Crochet Patterns
All the crochet patterns on this blog are written in US Terminology. You can find a US/UK Conversion Chart HERE. Most of my patterns include many photos to make it as easy as possible for you to follow along, regardless of pattern complexity or skill level. Some also contain charts and/or links to step-by-step video tutorials.
I have an excellent group of testers and translators who help ensure that the patterns are as accurate as possible. If you would like to translate one of my patterns, I would love to hear from you, so please contact me. Please DO NOT translate any of my patterns without my permission.
At the bottom of each blog post, you will find a Print Friendly Button that lets you print my patterns and tutorials. There is also an option to save them as a PDF, with the ability to remove images or text you do not wish to include.
You can also buy a print-friendly PDF version of some patterns on Ravelry or Etsy.
For Sharing, Selling, and Photo Permission, please see my Terms of Use.
Crochet Tutorials and Resources
Apart from my free patterns, I also have a large number of step-by-step crochet tutorials, in which I share the tips and tricks I have picked up over the last two decades, as well as how to make some of the more… erm… interesting stitches (like the Really Lazy Popcorn and the Treble Cross Stitch). When I started crocheting, there were so many things I didn’t even KNOW I didn’t know. For instance, I had NO idea about stitch anatomy or how to identify my stitches (especially that first and last one when working in rows). Once that clicked, it changed my whole relationship with crochet – in the same way that finding the right crochet hook for me did.
If you would like to spend a few moments exploring my crochet tutorials, I invite you to look at my Crochet Tutorials and Resources post.
Free Crochet-alongs (CALs)
Before we get to the bulk of my free patterns, I want to chat about crochet-alongs quickly, because they are what I am most well-known for – particularly Sophie’s Universe, which was released in 2015 and is still my most popular crochet pattern – even with beginners!
Crochet-alongs are patterns shared in parts (usually weekly) so that a whole community can make the project together. They often have video support, photo tutorials, charts, and some form of support via Facebook groups or Ravelry forums.
I have designed five crochet-alongs so far, all inspired by the Block a Week CAL 2014 (multiple designers), for which I created the photo tutorials. That CAL ignited my love of breaking down patterns into clear steps. It informed how I write and share my patterns.
If you are not familiar with my crochet patterns yet, they are wordy, step-by-step, and filled with landmarks like: “do x,y,z in the next st, which will be a bit tricky to get into” or “this will feel wrong, but it will work out in the end“. They are also filled with a fair amount of humour and a splash of cheekiness.
