Ola my lovelies :) If you have been following Jenny’s Sophie’s Dream journey, I am sure that you are as excited as she is (and I am!) to see this ‘Reveal’ post. Sophie’s Dream has been a joy to help conceptualise, and I hope you like the finished blanket as much as Jenny and I do. If there are two things I don’t think we will ever tire of, they are Sophie and Whirls!
Unlike Charlotte’s Dream, which had a vintage summer-picnic feel, Sophie’s Dream has a very bohemian feel – brights combined with brights to create a riot of colour, all without any of the colour-changing work. This blanket is much more Mrs. Maisel than Charlotte Brontë!
Just look at it! Squee!!!
Let me show you a better angle…
After a little chat, we decided to use the same border we used for Charlotte’s Dream, using Whirlettes that would compliment the colours in the Whirls to most advantage.
As with many of the projects I share with you, the photos were not taken in my house (if ONLY I had a house like that), but rather in The Arched House in Lyme Regis where I co-host yarn retreats with Daisy from Devon Sun Yarns.
The room Jenny and I took these photos in is my favourite room in the whole house – apart from, maybe, the quaint bunk room that has become ‘mine’.
It was extremely hard to get a good photo of the blanket face-on. I tried my best, and no-doubt Jenny has some funny photos of me trying to take these photos in my Christmas PJ’s (thank you Mr. LAWIM). This was the best I could do. Aren’t those colours amazing??
Of course, Jenny couldn’t help stroking ‘her baby’, and I had to include a photo of that.
The pattern for Sophie’s Dream will be posted on my website next Saturday (29th of December 2018).
Yarn packs will be available in my Wool Warehouse Shop as soon as all the colours are back in stock early next year. You can find the individual balls at any of the Scheepjes Stockists HERE.
See you next week for the ‘pattern’!

Do you know when the spring packs will be available? If not soon, can you tell which yarn are used?
This is beautiful!
The Spring Dream hasn’t been released yet I am afraid. We are releasing the colour ways and details gradually.

Hello. My lovely OH gave me Woolwarehouse vouchers for Christmas, so that I could buy the kit in January, but it still isn’t available. Do you have any idea when it will be? I can’t wait to start it!
Dedri Uys says
Hi Kathryn. How nice is he?? Unfortunately, there has been a very high demand for one of the whirlettes and one of the whirls, so we have not been able to get hold of the colours we need to make the kits. I know this must be as frustrating for you as it is for me. The only thing I can think of is that you buy the colours that ARE available and start with them? Then, when the missing colours are back in stock, you can buy those and finish your blanket. Alternatively, make the squares that you can make now and then look at the Ravelry projects to see if any of the alternatives people are using speak to you. Maybe you find colours you like more than the missing ones and can add them in?
I am so sorry that I can’t be of more help to you.

It is stunning and practically glows! I love it. Thank you both and Happy Holidays!
I am I awe of the talent that shows in that exquisite blanket. I suppose it would be to difficult for a beginner like me.
Natalie, I learnt to crochet making a Soohie’s garden square, so I would definitely say give it a go! Maybe practice the square pattern step by step with a basic dk yarn first to see how you get on.
oh no what a fabulous blanket. And after Kalevala-blanket and Garden of dreams – blanket I said I wont do any blanket in two years :D And only half year has gone.. …
I have my own yarnstore and I sell whirls so I think this blanket gonna go my must do- list!
Very gorgeous blanket indeed! Love it!
Ooh! Do let us know what colours you choose. Jenny :)
Well, this just jumped to the top of my to-crochet list! The arrangement of those colors is nothing short of brilliant! I would have never thought to put them together, yet they are perfect. I’m so excited to start this!
Enjoy! Jenny :)

Oh my Goodness!! Those colors are SPECTACULAR!! Sophie’s Dream is of course beautiful on its own, but add in those colors and it becomes something even more stunning!! I have been so busy getting all my gifts made, several last minute orders thrown in that this very minute I’ve finally relaxed. Only to fly out tomorrow to Seattle to spend the next 10 days with my son. So I’m sad to say I have yet to buy any yarn or even attempt to participate in this CAL! Hopefully after the New Year!
Merry Christmas to you and yours, and all the rest on your blog!
