Charlotte’s Universe Part 11 – Forget-Me-Nots {Again}

Welcome to Part 11 of Charlotte’s Universe.  I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all your roses bloom last week.  I wish I knew just how many of them we made collectively!

In this part, we will be revisiting those gorgeous Forget-Me-Nots.  I think it is safe to say that some of you wish you COULD forget them!  But I love them, and I think they are worth every yarn-over-twice.

Round 100 (Colour C)

This is a repeat of Round 40.  As before, you will need to concentrate in this round.  It is not hard, but you do have to pay attention.

Join your yarn by making a standing dc in any ch-2 corner sp.  (Dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the same ch-2 corner sp. This is your first corner made.

*Dc in the first (hidden) st.  Skip the next st.  [Dc, hdc, sc] in the next st.  Skip the next 2 sts.  [Sc, hdc, dc] in the next st.  Skip the next st.  Dc in the next st.  This is your first repeat made.  Notice that the repeat starts and ends with a dc.

(Dc in the next st and skip the next st.  [Dc, hdc, sc] in the next st.  Skip the next 2 sts.  [Sc, hdc, dc] in the next st.  Skip the next st and dc in the next st) until no sts remain before the ch-2 corner sp.  (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the next ch-2 corner sp.*

Repeat from * to * 3 more times, omitting the last corner on the last repeat.  Join to the top of the first dc with a sl st.  Fasten off and work away your ends.

Stitch Count Per Side:  236 sts {120 dc, 58 hdc, and 58 sc} – not including ch-2 corner sps

Round 101 (Colour B) – Flowers

Remember that this round will make you go all sorts of ‘WHAT?’, just as Round 41 did.  If you need help remembering how to make a Split 3-tr Bobble, please see the tutorial at the start of Round 41.

Join your yarn by making a standing sc in any ch-2 corner sp.  Make 2 more sc in the same sp.  This is your corner made.

*Hdc in the first (hidden) st, dc in the next st.  Dc between the same dc and the next dc.  To do this, insert your hook between the posts of the stitches, not only into the top 2 loops.

(Ch 3.  Make a Split 3-tr Bobble.   Ch 5.  Make a dc between the next 2 dc) 29 times.

There should now be 2 dc left unworked.  Dc in the next st, which will be slightly hidden by the last dc you made.  Hdc in the next st.  Make 3 sc in the ch-2 corner sp.*

Repeat from * to * 3 more times, omitting the last 3 sc on the last repeat.  Join to the first sc with a sl st.  Fasten off and work away your ends.

Stitch Count Per Side:  29 Split 3-tr Bobbles, 29 ch-3 sps, 29 ch-5 sps, 32 dc, 2 hdc, and 2 sc per side – not including central corner sc

Round 102 (Colour B) – Flowers

This round is the same as Round 42, but with way more Forget-Me-Nots!

Please Remember:

  • The first chain after each Split 3-tr Bobble will make a little loop right after the Split 3-tr Bobble.
  • Mark the second 3-tr Bobble of each side with a SM (the one at the top of the first Flower).
  • The first 3-tr Bobble of each repeat is NOT made in front of the ch-5 sp.  Only the second and third ones are.  Please take a careful look at the Photos in Round 42 if you need help.

Join your yarn by making a standing FPsc around the second dc of any side.  If you have trouble identifying this stitch, it is the last dc before the first ch-3 sp.

*(Make a 3-tr Bobble in the first ch after the next Split 3-tr Bobble.  Sc into the ch-3 sp behind this 3-tr Bobble.  Working in front of the ch-5 sp from the previous round: [Ch 4, 3-tr Bobble, ch 5, 3-tr Bobble] into the same ch.  FPsc around the next dc) 29 times.  Ch 6 and skip the next 7 st.  FPsc around the next st, which should be the second dc of the next side.*

Repeat from * to * 3 more times, omitting the last FPsc on the last repeat.  Join to the first FPsc with a sl st.  Fasten off and work away your ends.

Mark the first ch-4 sp and the last ch-5 sp of each side with a SM.  Do not remove these until instructed to do so in Row 112.

Stitch Count Per Side:  87 3-tr Bobbles, 29 sc, 30 FPsc, 29 ch-4 sps, and 29 ch-5 sps – not including ch-6 corner sps

While we are on the subject of stitch markers…

Next week, we will be using stitch markers like they are going out of fashion.  If you don’t have 50+ stitch markers casually lying around, you can use pieces of scrap yarn.  If you don’t have scrap yarn, now’s an excellent time to work away some of those ends you haven’t worked away yet… and then use those ends to mark your work with 😊

As far as recommendations go, I use Clover Stitch markers (Amazon.com), although THESE ones (Amazon.co.uk/Amazon.com) are cheaper and just as good (in my opinion).  Looking up the links, I saw that Clover has little squiggly ones as well (Amazon.co.uk/Amazon.com).  They made me smile because they look as if they are shivering with glee :)  I haven’t tried them yet, but I’ve ordered some.

You can find me on Facebook, Bloglovin, Pinterest, Twitter, or Instagram.

Happy Hooking!
