Welcome to Lucy, my Crochet Wall Bouquet. This is an evolving collection of free crochet flower and leaf patterns that I will be sharing one by one as I work my way through designing, photographing, and filming the tutorials.
The idea is not that you will recreate my bouquet exactly. Instead, I hope you will use these free crochet flower patterns to create your own crochet wall bouquet – one that reflects your own colour choices, favourite flowers, and slightly whimsical design decisions.

I took this photo of the bouquet against a clear Devon sky, and it immediately made me think of the song Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (or flowers, in this case).
So I decided to call the bouquet Lucy.
Why not? I name almost everything after girls.
The Inspiration Behind the Bouquet
One of my favourite birthdays was my fortieth. I remember sitting in my little design space with a windowsill full of bouquets. For weeks afterwards, I enjoyed watching them slowly change as they opened and faded. And just five days later, we welcomed Buddy the Springer Spaniel into our family. That’s a pretty good birthday, don’t you think?

The Design Idea
Anyway, when I started crocheting flowers, it felt quite natural to gather them into a bouquet of their own. I had grand ideas of designing tessellating motifs that could be combined into a three-dimensional bouquet cushion for people living with dementia – something similar to a Twiddle Muff. It did not take long for me to realise that my joy lay in figuring out how to make the flowers themselves… not in the engineering challenge of making them tessellate perfectly.
So I changed direction.
Instead of complicated geometry, I simply started making slightly three-dimensional flowers and attaching them to an embroidery hoop to create a crochet bouquet for my wall.
And honestly, I think that suits the project much better.
This was the first photo I shared of my work in progress.

I used a 27cm embroidery hoop for my wall bouquet. To create the backing, I sewed a Wool Warehouse Organza bag (you know, the kind they send your yarn in) and sewed it to the hoop like so:

I then arranged and sewed all the Flowers and Leaves to this backing:

And TADA!!! All done :)

I LOVE the texture and the whimsy of this pattern!!! It makes me so happy to look at and touch.

I have all the yarn to finish my flower bouquet. If you are not going to publish the rest of the patterns, could you please give me an idea where I could look to finish it on my own? Thank you I was hoping to have it finished by the end of 2025.

Dedri’s flower bouquet is a gradually developing work in progress, and all we can recommend is that you just keep watching this space.
When Dedri is ready to add to her bouquet, this will be the place she does it :)
