It’s a crying SHAME it doesn’t take you to the actual pattern (sob!) as I’m always rushed and do not have the time to search forever.
Jenny says
Can you tell us what pattern you want to find, then maybe we can give you a direct link? :)

Dedri Uys says
Hi Susan. I am sorry to hear your daughter is unwell. I hope she feels better soon. I have found a list of crochet cat patterns on Ravelry HERE.
Louise says
I just want to go on record as saying what an amazing talented designer you are. Your creations are stunning absolutely stunning and the fact that you make a lot of your patterns available for free is amazing. why have I not come across your blog before??? I’m purchasing the yarn to do three Sophie. They will be heirlooms for my children. A reminder of mum’s cuddles when they wrap it round themselves. Thank you x
Dedri Uys says
Hi Louise. I am still discovering wonderful new blogs every day and I always wonder the same thing :) I’m so pleased you like Sophie and want to make three!
Gloria Atwell says
I am having the worst time finding this pattern. It says Sofie’s Garden August 2015. It also says Enchanted Garden. And I thought ChiChi did it but was a dead end. I am willing to pay for this pattern. Please help me find it if you can.
Thank you,
Gloria
Dedri Uys says
Hi Gloria. The pattern for the Enchanted Garden was written by someone else and can be found on Ravelry. It uses parts of my Sophie’s Universe pattern (the first part of which is called Sophie’s Garden) and part of the Crocodile flower pattern (paid). If you buy the Enchanted Garden pattern, it will tell you when to use which parts of my pattern, and when to use which parts of Joyce’s Crocodile flower. I hope you manage to find it.
Kathy Atkinson says
I am going to make Sophies cal. The directions are hugh and I am having to copy it to a word processing program so I can change the font to a larger size. I am not able to print the photos. I was wondering if you publish this and if is in large print? I would love to have it with all the photos and in a large print. Is it ok to sell the finished product? I will include your web address and will not sell pattern.
Dedri Uys says
Hi Kathy. The book will be published very soon, but it is not large print. You can zoom your internet by pressing Ctrl and + at the same time, which will make everything look bigger. I hope you manage!
Lo Cooper says
Hi Kathy, I hope I don’t offend by contacting you on here. I am visually impaired and have a system of markers to help me keep track of stitches, repeats, corners etc. I also can;t read patterns but rely on pictures and if you haven;t tried it yet text to speech. Also it is possible to save the picture tutorials as a PDF and then get someone to edit it by changing font etc. My husband does this for me. I also use an embroidery light/magnifier but my sight has deteriorated to such a degree I am now legally blind, so I have a method of working by fingertip touch and a frew tricks. I am very very heppy to try to help you in any way I can. Please leave a message with the moderator with your details and maybe we can help each other?
Sincerely Lo (Lorraine)
Hi Dedri/Moderator! Please don’t hesitate to delete this if it is not something you wish to have on your page but I would be very happy to help by testing patterns or working out a marking system for the visually impaired. It is nice to feel useful occasionally! I know you will edit this before you publish it. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. A very grateful subsriber and I hope friend.
Jenny says
No need for editing Lo! I am sure Dedri will respond to you. Thank you for your kind offer, it may be something Dedri can think about for the future! When you have your vision, you can take it for granted. You have made me stop and think about how much work and what tools can be used to help the visually impaired crocheters now, and I am sure Dedri will be the same!
Jenny :)
Lo Cooper says
Thank you Jenny. I don’t like to make comments but I am working on a system of making patterns easy for visually impaired persons. My typing awful as I can’t see what I am doing and sometimes the text speech works weel other times its quite funny what it interprets lol. Thak you so much for the inspiration you give and I am now half way through Charlotte with an alternate border (as I can;t work well with skipped stitches or filtet work). Anyway I wish both yourself and Dedri a happy new year. Sincerely Lo
Dedri Uys says
Lo, we always welcome your comments, so please don’t worry about that. I look forward to seeing your modified border.

Dedri,
You are the most talented and unselfish person I know. I have been in deep depression, beginning when my best friend and crochet buddy died of ovarian cancer at 47 about 5 years ago. I just could not crochet. Then, my husband of 40 years just walked out. We signed the papers yesterday. I would have bet the farm that would have never happened to me! God has truly helped me, given me a heart felt desire to crochet again. YOU have been the most influenctial. I would like to thank you for so much! By yhe way, this is the first email I have ever sent. Blessings to you,
Jenny says
Blessings to you too, Linda. I find solace in crochet when my life falls on difficult times. We are happy to hear you have found crochet joy again.
Take care :)

Dedri,
Thank you so much for sharing your patterns. I am trying to find the Dr. Seuss hat pattern. Please let me know where to find it!
Thank you!
Becca
Dedri Uys says
Hi Becca. Unfortunately the pattern is no longer available due to trademark.
Alanna says
Hello –
I am wondering if you might have anything in mind to make an armadillo amamani puzzle ball? I have a friend who desperately wants one and loves armadillos, so I would appreciate some inspiration or a helpful pattern if you have ideas.
Dedri Uys says
Hi Alanna. I am not currently working on any puzzle balls, but I have always wanted to make an armadillo.
sharone says
Hi , I love the large elephant ears pattern but I am wondering if it is possible to enlarge the ears . Thank you for your amazing website. Sharone
Dedri Uys says
It depends on how large you need them. You can make them about 15 cm if you use t-shirt yarn and a 10 mm crochet hook…
heidi says
hi Dedri,
i love your cat in the hat and bow tie crochet. i would love to get the pattern. can you email it to me?
thanks!
Dedri Uys says
Hi Heidi.
The pattern is no longer available because it breaches trademark law.
Diana says
I have a quick question on the longies pattern. After the end of rnd 41 (size 24-36mo)what should the rectangle of material measure? Just an idea on dimensions so I know I’m on the right track. Thank you! And I love your patterns.
Dedri Uys says
Hi Diana. This pattern is sorely in need of an update and I apologize for how badly it is written. I will make work of re-writing it.
You should be repeating Round 5 for a total of 41 rounds, which will give you 45 rounds in total before the legs start (if you add the first 4 rows/rounds). At this point you should have a tube, not a flat rectangle (note in Round 5 that says don’t turn and join to make a tube).
The resulting tube should have a circumference of 59 cm and a height of 25 cm. I hope that makes sense.

Denise says
Dedri,
I came across the Sophie in early October 15′ I was totally enamored with it, I wanted to make it for my mother for Christmas, I started it on October 31, 2015 and finished it last night. December 23, 2015, I did the Sophie in the colors of the ocean. My inspiration came from a cruise we took in late October, when we came home I ordered my yarn and started the day I received my shipment. Thank you so much for such a beautiful project!
I do hope there will be a crochet along for 2016 I want to make another for my son who is off at college.
Thank you,
Denise
Dedri Uys says
Well done for finishing it on time, Denise. No CAL 2016 (that I know of, anyway), but 2017 isn’t far off :)
Christy says
Hi. On Pinterest I saw a Cat in the Hat, hat. I love it (my birthday is the same as Dr. Seuss and I love all of his characters, especially cat n hat) and wanted to check out the pattern. I clicked on the picture, but it is gone. Is there a way to get it?
Thank you
Dedri Uys says
Hi Christy. I am very sorry about that. The pattern is no longer available because it breached trademark law. You can still find other dr seuss patterns on the web, though.
