Welcome to Part 8 of Universe in Bloom. In this part, we are going to make a Pineapple Lace Border. In some colourways this will be a rainbow, in others it may look like a mountain range or sunshine on a beach day.

Colours Per Round

Instructions
At the end of this part, your blanket will ruffle a bit… more so if you are using cotton (because it is less ‘bouncy’ than acrylic). Please do not worry about this. This lacy portion will stretch out and beautify as we keep adding rounds.

Tester’s Tip: “I found it useful to mark the start of the Corners with a stitch marker and move it up every couple of rounds, especially as you get further away from the Corner flowers… otherwise I’d be halfway around before remembering that I needed to do something different in the corners (which aren’t the same as the sides, but similar)” – Ruth Lambert
It is worth mentioning that a fair few testers agreed with this!
Round 59
