Dedri,
Was wondering if you have an idea when the pattern for Simply Charlotte will be released. I’ve made Sophie’s Universe and an afghan using Charlotte’s Square and am very excited about these ideas being combined. Many thanks for the countless hours of crocheting pleasure you’re patterns have given.
Jenny says
Maryann, even I am excited and hanging on for Simply Charlotte to be released! We will all have to sit on our hands in anticipation I am afraid, as that is a closely guarded secret that only Dedri knows the answer to!
Jenny :)
Angela Hooker says
Hi Deri. I’m on r84 part 11 so I have a little while before I have to start the border. I am not going to add the squares. I have read the instructions for the border a least 4 times know and I still dont understand how to do the base round. Do I only need to add 4 extra stitches per side for the rest of the border to work if I start the border right after r113? I want to be able to add all of the rounds for it. Please help.
Jenny says
Hi Angela. Can you clarify which pattern you are working on, please?
Jenny :)

Hi! I just discovered your site today through a cousin of mine. I love your site and all the beautiful projects you have here. I want to “like” your site, but I don’t see a “button” for that. It would be wonderful to get your newsletter, too.
I’m sorry if I’m overlooking the information I am interested in. I’ve been sick for a while and I’m not very sharp right now. :-)
Dedri Uys says
Hi Cindy. I’m sorry to hear that you have been ill. There is a link in my sidebar, (right under my profile picture and under the heading ‘Newsletter’) that will allow you to subscribe to my newsletter. God bless x

I loved your blog on crochet hooks and I would love to buy an Ilona heritage crochet hook but cannot get into the yarninabarn website. Any suggestions for buying in the UK ? Sue

Hi Sue. She only sells the hooks on her website. Could you maybe try and access it again? If you are still unable use the contact me tab to send me an email with your email address and I will contact her and ask her.

Hi Dedri! I was very excited to ‘find you again’ after taking a break from crochet because, well, life got in the way! There is so much new to me on your site that it will take me days and days to go through it. I found my ‘Gemina’ (who is now lying in 3 pieces! You would think that after all the time I spent on him that I would never forget how to put him back together!) and my ‘Rosie’. They both send their love.
It looks like you have been very busy…you kinda make me tired LOL.

Dedri Uys says
Hi Celeta. How wonderful to hear from you again. Life is getting in the way for me too at the moment :) I hope you find time to crochet a bit again soon x
Lynette van Velze says
Do you have a book on Sophie’s Garden/Universe that I can order?
Dedri Uys says
Hi Lynette. I do, yes. You can read about it HERE, and you can order books from beinspired.love.
Dedri Uys says
Hi Jackie. Which blogging platform will you be using? There should be a chain link icon somewhere. If you highlight the text you want to make into a link and then press that icon, you can insert the link into the box provided and it will make the text clickable. I hope that makes sense.

Hi. I was wondering if you have a link to the final stages of Charlottes square.

Thank you so much for your free patterns..you are truly a genius! I’ve purchased 2 Sophie’s Universe kits so far and will probably get more, they are amazing. All your hard work is so appreciated and I wish you had a donate paypal button, I would love to donate to you.
Dedri Uys says
Hi Summer. That is very kind of you :) I am a firm believer of paying it forward, so if you know anyone else who could do with the donation instead, please bless them with it :) And do tell me if you do. Have a great day!

Hi Annelize. Lekker om weer van jou te hoor. Ons sukkel nog bietjie om grond te vat, so ek vra verskoning vir hoe lank dit my gevat het om te antwoord. Ons kuier was ongelooflik lekker. Ons het soveel familie en vriende gesien, en soveel wonderlike nuwe mense ontmoet.
Mooi bly,

Alessa Delgado says
Hello,
Firstly thank you for sharing Sophie’s Universe. I am making is couple of pillowcases for a wedding gift with the pattern. My question is have you made it into a pillow before? I’m wondering how I would sew it onto the slip or if there was a better method. I had planned on making the pillow slip then stitching it on to the fabric, I’ve done this before but didn’t like the finished result.
Thank you again!
Dedri Uys says
Hi Alessa.
I haven’t made a pillow yet, but I have seen MANY examples and they look great! They do need a fabric backing, though, and I suggest using a contrasting colour or a muted tone for the backing. It only shows through in some places and complements the lacy parts of the pattern.
