I was honoured to be asked to join 24 other crafty bloggers in creating a unique advent calendar for Oxfam. The calendar will be auctioned for charity and the winner will receive all 25 hand-decorated boxes, each containing a unique hand-made gift.

Unfortunately my old camera and I experienced an acute case of ‘user error’, which resulted in me losing every single photo I had taken for this post. Luckily Parcel Hero were kind enough to send me some of their photos to use. (Thank you!)
For my box I decided on a simple decoupage decoration. Xander kindly ran around the house with the not-quite-dried-yet box, resulting in a few not-so-pristine spots. But that adds to the hand-made charm (I hope).
When I saw the photos of the other boxes, I realized that they had asked us to decorate the inside of the box as well and I, in my second bout of user-error, had neglected to do so!
I used a Front Post Frenzy potholder as my gift. Partly because it’s one of my favourite patterns (and one of the nominees for the 2015 Crochet Awards), but mostly because I love the colours and the yarn I used to make it.
